On peut donc en juger la qualité de manière totalement rationnelle puisque chaque univers change, avec la même distribution d’acteurs qu’on découvre alors dans de nouveaux rôles. Bref on vous en a pas trop parlé depuis le début, mais en fait dans le fond on aime bien comme en témoigne ce classement ultime et intouchable. Et d’ailleurs, on est très impatients des 3 nouvelles saisons qui ont été annoncées. 1. Saison 7, Cult la plus meilleure des meilleures C’est aisément la meilleure des saisons, elle a le mérite de se défaire de tout l’aspect SF qui part en couille généralement sur les trois derniers épisodes de chaque saison. Là on est sur du concret, du politique, du thriller psychologique, de l’actualité. Le personnage principal est Ally, lesbienne démocrate dont les psychoses resurgissent alors qu’elle apprend l’élection de Trump à la tête du pays. Parallèlement un taré crée une secte en exploitant la peur des gens et c’est ultra flippant. 2. Saison 2, Asylum la plus barge On assiste là à un barrage en couille complet. Je comprends qu’on puisse trouver cette saison un poil too much surtout quand on commence à voir des démons, des extra-terrestres et tout le tintouin. Toujours est-il que cette saison a non seulement le meilleur des génériques celui qui fait le plus pisser dans sa culotte, mais aussi un cadre grave angoissant un asile dirigé par une nonne cinglée et une journaliste qui s’y retrouve prisonnière pour punir son homosexualité. 3. Saison 9, 1984 la plus drôle Oui, je sais que vous êtes beaucoup à ne pas avoir trop apprécié l’esprit summer vibes en camp de vacances des années 80. Alors c’est vrai qu’on s’éloigne un peu de Nos Jours Heureux, mais je m’en fous. C’est la seule saison qui n’est pas constamment plongée dans le noir, avec quelques traits d’humour et on aime. Ça nous donne quasi envie d’y être pour de vrai non. 4. Saison 4, Freak Show la plus freak Pour les fans du film culte de Tod Browning Freaks, c’est une saison hommage. Même si le scénar se barre en cacahuètes de temps à autre, il satisfait notre voyeurisme en nous offrant une galerie de monstres » de cirques et un clown tueur en prime qui est un peu en mal de reconnaissance artistique… 5. Saison 1, Murder House la plus classique D’aucuns diront que c’est la plus meilleure des mieux. Mais on emmerde ce d’aucuns ». Nous on pense que c’est la cinquième des meilleures. Certes on l’avait aimé cette saison. C’était la première, celle qui campait l’univers glauque, SF, horrifique de la série aux genres multiples. Mais en fait on a préféré les saisons d’après. C’est comme ça. C’est injuste. Mais la vie est injuste bordel, réveillez-vous. 6. Saison 6, Roanoke la plus méta-série dans la méta-série Pas mal mais pas la plus ouf non plus mais pas mal mais pas ouf de chez ouf, mais pas mal hein, mais bon peut mieux faire. Bref, ce qu’on a surtout kiffé dans cette saison c’est le retournement de situation qui cette fois-ci est plutôt bien réussi, on capte que les personnages étaient en fait des acteurs jouant les rôles d’autres personnages qui vont ensuite reprendre leur propres rôles. Bon, dit comme ça, ça veut rien dire mais s’il ne fallait retenir qu’un truc la performance de Kathy Bates. 7. Saison 3, Coven la plus "c'est un grand non" Bon alors je vous avoue que j’ai arrêté au bout de la moitié. Même pas. Deux trois épisodes. Ou alors c’était avant la fin du premier je sais plus. En tout cas je suis consciente qu’il est profondément malhonnête pour moi de parler de cette saison. Toujours est-il que plusieurs personnes ont essayé de me convaincre de la qualité de cette saison, et j’ai pas du tout été convaincue. Du coup BALEK. Saison de merde. Analyse juste et efficace. 8. Saison 5 la plus Lady gagesque Déjà de base à partir du moment où on voit Lady Gaga au générique c’est un petit coup de poignard dans le cœur du respect. Ma motivation a été tuée au générique, déso. 9. Saison 8, Apocalypse la plus remake On avait déjà pas trop aimé la saison 3, on peut possiblement pas aimer la 8 qui est juste un gros remake de la 3 avec les sorcières, surtout tournée à la sauce ahah c’est la fin du monde, tous les humains sont morts AHAHAH ». Arriving in an Uber in our own year of the Lord, our favorite and most chiseled horror story alum is here to explore the secrets of Camp Redwood. And despite being warned off by a nervous Montana Billie Lourd, he’s determined to see this through. It’s the only way he’ll find out what happened to his father, he says, and that’s when Montana realizes this is Bobby, Baby Jingles, all grown up. Redwood’s most glamorous ghost is anxious for news of the outside world, although it’s mostly disappointing “Aerobics is kind of a joke these days,” Bobby says, to her disappointment. Calisthenics in a pair of clingy tighty-whities, though? Now there’s a workout destined for immortality. Meanwhile, at Redwood, things are just as they’ve always been — except for the notable addition of Trevor Matthew Morrison to the roster of Redwood souls. Turns out, Trevor tried to stop Margaret Leslie Grossman from carrying out her evil plan to murder all the festival musicians back in ’89, and she shot him in the junk for his efforts. Dying just outside the Redwood gates, it looked like Trevor would actually stay dead, but Brooke Emma Roberts showed up just in time to help him back onto the property, and give him and Montana a rare AHS happy ending. This was Montana’s moment of truth, and since then, the ghosts of Redwood have been a much friendlier bunch! Except to Richard Ramirez Zach Villa, who they’ve spent the past 30 years creatively murdering and then watching over in shifts so that they can re-kill him every time he resurrects — a system that has been working flawlessly until literally just this minute, when Chet Gus Kenworthy and Bertie Tara Karsian decide to play strip Pictionary instead of watching the Nightstalker’s corpse. Ramirez chases Bobby through the camp, but he narrowly escapes with new instructions to seek answers at Red Meadows Asylum. Enter the Red Meadows medical director Donna Angelica Ross, who fills in the rest of the Redwood backstory. It was Halloween 1989, and Margaret Leslie Grossman was still trying to stop the music forever when her past victims came back to haunt her. Brooke was shot in the melee, but Donna survived to be the final girl… and to tell the story of how the ghosts fed Margaret limb by limb into a woodchipper angled just so over the property line. The ghosts thought this was a foolproof plan. The ghosts, apparently, haven’t the faintest idea how either human bodies or woodchippers work. Ever since then, Donna has tried to atone for her sins by helping the mentally ill. But Bobby hasn’t been on her radar at all, so who’s the mysterious benefactor who’s been sending him money all these years? That question takes the pair to Pineville, Ore., where they find…Brooke! She’s alive, a mother of two, and probably a vampire, considering she hasn’t aged a day in 30 years. Sidenote She says her secret is “fillers,” but I and my frown lines won’t be satisfied until I know brand names and precise quantities, thank you very much. After surviving her gunshot wound, she was reborn as a wife and mother — and yes, she’s been sending money to Bobby to try to give him a shot at a normal life, or at least keep him from coming back to camp. “I guess in the end, I did it for me as much as for you,” she tells him. And as for Donna? “I guess we’re both the final girl.” D’awww. But it can’t end here, kids this show has always been about bringing its characters back to camp, and Bobby is no exception. So he returns to Redwood again, only this time, it’s Margaret who confronts him. Confidential to any murderous ghosts who might be reading this When you feed someone into a woodchipper, THEY DIE AT THE MOMENT OF CHIPPIFICATION. [Insert “The More You Know” shooting star animation here.] And what’s Margaret’s purpose in popping up here at camp? “I’ve been hiding,” she says. “And waiting! To kill you!” This yawn of a final twist lasts all of a second, but of course, she won’t get away with it. Bobby has family looking out for him, and he’s saved first by the ghost of his father John Carroll Lynch, and then by the ghost of his grandma Lily Rabe, who shows up just in time to remind Margaret that she’s not, and never was, the final girl. The final girl, obviously, is Finn Wittrock. And this is how it ends as Bobby leaves Camp Redwood for what is hopefully the last time honestly, dude, do not go back in there? Please? For any reason?, he turns back to see his father, grandmother, and dead mute baby uncle standing together. The power chords of Mike and the Mechanics “The Living Years” soars in the background. The ’80s live on in our hearts, forever. Somewhere off camera, Trevor and Montana are probably having energetic ghost sex for the fifth time today. And that’s our horror story!
